A patio is the crown jewel of any landscaped area and often receives more use by home and business owners than any other landscape feature. Because of the importance and prominence of a patio, it is important to make sure that it is done correctly and this is where Maxwell Landscaping, Inc. excels.

Many landscapers will cut corners when installing a patio, but at Maxwell, we make sure that each patio has a base of Class Five gravel and a layer of sand that has been compacted and leveled so that it slopes ever so slightly away from building foundations, preventing water damage. Once the patio is in place, we also install a snap-edging around the perimeter to ensure that the patio will not shift or move over time.

Materials

There are many options to choose from when selecting what kind of patio you want and each has its own advantages. Bricks, or pavers, are the most common material used. They come in many colors and sizes and can be laid in many different patterns. They are also strong, withstand weathering easily, and are easily replaced. Flagstone has a much more natural look than pavers, but it is harder to replace as it must be mortared. Slate is also available and offers a flat, clean look with varying patterns and colors.
