Edging defines garden and landscape beds, creates a barrier that prevents rock and mulch overflow into the lawn, and restricts sod growth into the beds. Wider curves can accentuate home features and soften hard corners. There are several different types of edging, including: metal edging, plastic edging, brick edging, natural stone edging, and natural edging. Natural edging will need to be maintained and the sod cut back on a year-to-year basis.
